UTILITY, 2008 - 2009

UTILITY was a series of interventions that examined the changing presence of utilities in several historic buildings in San Francisco. Often camouflaged in plain site by layers of paint, or obfuscated by their obvious obsolescence, old wires, ducts, pipes, and vents reveal the changing role of electricity, plumbing, gas, and ventilation, and our changing utilization and dependance on the grid and its infrastructure.
